Introduction
Recombinant human FGF-10 protein is a recombinant growth factor designed for in vitro research, widely used in cell culture and organoid-related studies to support cell growth and functional analysis.
Background
FGF-10 is a mesenchyme-derived member of the FGF family and is highly similar to FGF-7. It primarily signals through FGFR2b expressed on epithelial cells, mediating epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during organogenesis.
FGF-10 plays crucial roles in limb bud formation, lung branching morphogenesis, and development of multiple organs including heart, liver, kidney, thymus, mammary gland, and pancreas. It establishes epithelial-mesenchymal signaling feedback loops essential for organ patterning.
In stem cell and organoid systems, recombinant FGF-10 promotes epithelial differentiation, enhances organoid growth and branching, and supports differentiation toward gut, lung, and hepatic lineages. Dysregulated FGF-10 signaling has been associated with developmental disorders and certain cancers.
